Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, I moved to Atlanta in 1970 to work for Delta Air Lines. That is where I met my husband, Larry. We lived in Milledgeville for a few years, and later moved to Marshallville, which was our home for over thirty years. We now live in Perry, Georgia.
My artistic journey began in the 1980’s when I began taking lessons from various local artists. My interest grew and I entered Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus, where in 2001, I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in drawing and painting. I sampled many other mediums there, but I currently work primarily in oil, pastel, mixed-media and collage.
I served as Fine Art Superintendent for the Georgia National Fair in Perry from 2009 until 2017, and I am past president of Houston Arts Alliance, Houston County, Georgia, and the Fine Art Society of Middle Georgia, in Warner Robins.
Edna Garrett joined Fine Art America on March 2nd, 2011.
